The Royal British Legion has chosen Tanla Mobile to run their text campaign this year. Anybody who been a victim of the premium rate industry and unsolicited reverse billed text will no doubt have heard of Tanla. Look on the PhonepayPus web site to see their disgraceful record.
It lists case after case where Tanla has been involved in the unauthorized billing of mobile phone numbers from third party data lists. Before anybody uses a Tanla short code they should consider the risks.

I would advise buying your poppy in a way that you can trust. The Poppy Download returns this year ready for this year’s Poppy Appeal and The Royal British Legion has chosen Tanla Mobile to run the mobile phone campaign for their Poppy Appeal 2008. Poppy Downloads enables the public arena to make donations via their mobile phone in exchange anyone doing so receives a poppy for their mobile phone wallpaper.
For the first time The Royal British Legion will include a short code number on their nationwide campaign poster and invites members of the public to text ‘POPPY’ to 80848 to make their $1.50 donation. Alternatively up to £10 donations can be submitted by Payforit by visiting the 3 website, the Vodafone website or www.poppy.org.
