How to beat Ryanair's charges!

in Credit cards
Hi all,
New to this site (what a discovery!) and I've had a search through the forums to answer the above question...
When I book with Ryanair there is a charge for every card bar Visa Electron. A google doesn't really help identify Visa Electron cards, and the posts on this site I could find relating to this were from 2006 - e.g. a poster mentioned A&L but theirs is no longer Visa Electron from what I can see.
Does anyone know of any existing Visa Electron cards?
Thankyou!
Matt

It's the Easycash account. The most basic account that anyone can apply for. I've got one.0

I think basic acounts do show up. I used to have a nationwide cashcard account(not even an electron) and it was on my credit file.:beer::beer:0

How many times is this going to come up ?
There are dozens of threads here on MSE ref Ryanair and Electron cards.
Three banks offer Electron cards on their basic accounts.
Current accounts will only show up if there is an overdraft facility attached to the account. Accounts with overdraft facilities attached that are 8+ years old may not show on credit reports due changes to the reporting of these accounts in 1999.

I fly with Ryanair twice a year so I've applied for the easycash account and will just chuck a couple of hundred quid in there. Don't see why I should pay £16 for 2 people even when paying with a debit card!

halifax card is easy to get but the co op card lets you put money on it in the post office..
I'm sticking with halifax as I have my bank account with them and have no probs transfering the money:santa2:0
