  • Have you got your daughter to sign up here? theres a students board aswell:T

She actually sent me the link first! We always look for vouchers etc whenever we meet up so that we can do things that don't cost a fortune but are fun.

I had assumed given the nice round numbers that the 0% deals on MBNA and the HSBC card were balance transfers? If so you need to check the conditions as you may finding that adding more debt would either incur a higher APR on the additional debt or result in you paying more interst on the whole balance.

When does the 0% deal run out?

If however the maximum limit on the lower APR cards allows you to BT more debt to them, and there is an advantage even after the transfer fee - likely to be 3%, then do it as it reduce your interest payments amd means that your money is oaying off the capital debt.

Regarding your daughter, if you are giving her £300, is she getting money from your ex as well?

You really do need to sit down with her and explain the situation. Also your new partner needs to talk to his sonand explain that there is not a lot for treats at weekends. it is going to be footie in the park rather than an awayday match, sort of thing.

    Description....................Debt......Monthly.. .APR
    CC1 - MBNA.....................4802......59........0
    CC2 - HSBC.....................1433......60........15.9
    CC3 - Halifax..................4734......130.......22.5
    Loan from parents..............13000.....200.......0
    Overdraft HSBC.................611.......0.........0
    Overdraft Alliance.............250.......0.........0
    Store Card Argos...............309.......2.........27.9
    CC4 - Barclaycard..............249.......6.........24.9

Previously put estimated figures in - total now as accurate as I can make it. Interest free MBNA is maxed out - 0% finishes in October 09. By getting the accurate figures I estimate I owe £3072 less than I thought! Will find out if I can transfer Barclaycard and Argos card onto HSBC without incurring extra APR.
  • Right, have transferred the 2 lowest cards onto my HSBC card as they were 2.5% for transfers. Have cut up those cards and as soon as I get statements through (and pay day has occurred) I will make final payments and shut the accounts down. PROGRESS!!!!!! Thank you x
