Motorised Treadmills - Eat up electricity?

    But a run in the park is free, and you won't be dripping sweat indoors, not smashing your floorboards, nor wasting hundreds on such a device! I just can't see the point of treadmills and I've been a member of a gym for many years.
  • I use a Weslo M6 and according to our wireless electricity monitor it uses around 4p per hour when I set it too 5.5km/h which is what I use it on.

    It's a lot cheaper than my local gym and don't have to go out in a morning and break my neck on ice!

    I agree with isofa. Also it'll most likley just gather dust after your initial enthusiasm.

    hmmm...I've hurt various joints and muscles runnning on the road but never sustained any injuries running on a nice soft treadmill. Very, very boring though.

    You could always take up swimming.

    I've got a dynamo and a spare bike :D

    There was a competiton on youtube about self-powered devices- washing machines etc :D
