Ive just redone my kitchen and gone with a white worktop and its great. Not the high gloss one but a matt one. Seems fine to keep clean but ,ight well end up driving me mad in 6 months time. Im normally useless at picking colours but luckily I came across a scheme in a magazine which I pretty much copied ! Plain walnut units ie not shaker, white worktop and iris ( light blue) walls. Havent done the floor yet but will probably be light coloured tiles.
