Thanks again for all your help with this. I have emailed NDL and given them all the details and will let you know what their response is.
I am tempted to just send the letter to Thames Credit anyway to be honest.0 -

I am tempted to just send the letter to Thames Credit anyway to be honest.Click here for Martins (MSE) advice on who to contact with Debt Issues - YOU HAVE NO REASON TO USE A FEE PAYING DEBT MANAGEMENT COMPANY- THEY CANNOT DO ANYMORE FOR YOU THAN THOSE LISTED IN MY LINK ABOVE.
All information given by myself is offered informally and without prejudice - if in doubt seek help from a qualified and insured professional0 -

I am a little confused as to what you mean by that (really sorry to be dumb!) but I don't get what you mean by where I stand legally.0

I had a CCJ against me back in 1997, earlier this year I was contacted by a DCA re the debt, but because it was over 6 years since I dealt with the debt, the DCA had to TAKE LEAVE OF THE COURT TO ENFORCE IT.
However, your CCJ is much more recent, in that, you've been paying towards the debt.Click here for Martins (MSE) advice on who to contact with Debt Issues - YOU HAVE NO REASON TO USE A FEE PAYING DEBT MANAGEMENT COMPANY- THEY CANNOT DO ANYMORE FOR YOU THAN THOSE LISTED IN MY LINK ABOVE.

Does it matter that Thames Credit are not the ones who issued me with the CCJ?0

Well I have not heard back from NDL yet. However I have managed to obtain my credit file from checkmyfile (Callcredit check) and surprisingly it has come back all clear. According to the file I have no CCJs registered against me and have no credit history! It states in the last 6 years there have not been any searches, audit footprints or enquiries registered on your credit report. And it says this is very rare? Not sure that is a good thing!
No court information. It also states "No accounts are recorded at the credit reference agency at the address searched, which is very rare. Account history is held for six years and both active and closed accounts are usually shown." not really sure what to make of that either - is that bad or does it not really affect anything?
Nothing else on my file!
It does show that I was on the electoral register from 1994 through to 2004 and then I dropped off the register for two years until I reappeared on it in 2006 - again is that bad?
I am thinking if nothing is registered or showing on that file I should probably refuse to pay Thames Credit? Could they register something on my file if I did??
Once again thanks for all your help people0 -
Someone just said to me that I should do my credit search through Experian - would they have a different file to Callcredit then?
I thought your credit file was one single thing and no matter who you used to get it it would return the same results! But they are saying its different through different people - is this true?
Thanks0
