  • From a moneysaving point of view bear in mind you are paying more for the name/style of it, than for its practical features.

If you want a stylish buggy there are lots on the market in a smaller price range.

    so what would you recommend?
i currently have a buzz and although i love it i am now finding it heavy to push with my dd in. i'm after something stylish, and light
  • I'm not much of an expert on the buggies for older children I'm afraid as I only have one child who is only 12 days old! I just think for the price of the bugaboo you must be able to get something better and just as fashionable, if that is important to you.

I love my Loola Up but it's not the lightest (to carry when folded). All the magazines seem to be going on about these - I am not a fan of the look of them personally but you might like them and they are very popular.

Having had a Bugaboo bee, I'd say stay clear. Its very small. Its a bit of faff changing the seating round the other way. My child was constantly trying to peer round the mahoosive hood it has. I got rid on ebay.

Replaced with a Maclaren. Sturdy. Easy. Reliable. In the pushchair world its the next best thing to sliced bread and there are some funky designs about.

We didnt have a Bee, what had the Chameleon one. It cost us nearly £700!
they are a good pram, but thats because they come with lots of features. If you dont need ALL the features - dont buy it! You really are just buying the name tbh. Quinney Buzz's are v good.

Oh, we also bought the cosatto 3 in 1. DONT BUY IT!!! It cost £450, and we had nothing but trouble with it. Terrible pram!
The lightest one one the market (when I bought mine) was the Mamas and Papas Pliko Pramette. I think it looks great, and v v v compfy.

    Hi there.
I have a Bee ready and waiting for my baby (a week overdue today~!)
I haven't obviously been able to try it out but I decided on it after a long, long time and lots of trials round pram shops with other models. I finally decided on the Bee due to the size (it being lightweight) as I use the local bus to get into town, the adjustable handlebar (as my partner is over 6ft), the flexibility (from newborn pram to stroller) and the fact that it's very very easy to push (my mum has arthritis).

I don't think that I will be switching the seat round much for the time being, although I didn't find that a problem. At least you can do that unlike the majority of prams. The hood is very big but a baby isn't going to worry too much about that, esp. during the colder months when it will be a great windshield and cosy! The baby nest is also incredibly cosy for little ones.

I don't think that it will last right up until 3 years old (what Bugaboo suggest) as the seat is small. I am going to see how I get on, and once little one reaches toddler staget then I will more than likely get a Maclaren or other stroller then.

I didn't get it because of the name, and I would never have paid £700 for one of the other Bugaboos. Infact, my sister who hasn't a clue about prams came with me to John Lewis and was immediately sold on the Bee due to the reasons given above.

Anway, money saving? I got mine from a seller on Ebay (shop). There are lots of sellers on the net that are selling packages (if you need a car seat etc). One of the best is probably Ladybugs. If you have an independent pram/baby shop near you I would also suggest seeing what 'deal' they can do you. They very often will let you haggle and often through in 'extras'.
Good luck on whatever you decide.
  • Is it just me who thinks these are really ugly looking? and the prices are shocking! I love my Petite Star Zia and it only cost £100!

Nope. I'm agog that anyone could buy something so bloody hideous. Let alone pay that much money for it. There's no accounting for taste .

    Jxx
And it looks like we made it once again
Yes it looks like we made it to the end

Each to their own  and personal taste is a wonderful thing wouldn't the world be boring if we all liked the same thing!?
