AVG has decided I have a trojan

One of the programs that I have had on my PC has suddenly started flagging as a trojan. I thought it was a bit odd so deleted it and reloaded a back up on but AVG still says it's a trojan, which I'm fairly sure it isn't but I can't find a way to stop AVG telling me every time I turn my PC on I have a trojan? I click ignore but the next time I boot up it flags up again, is there anyway to stop it doing it other than deleting the file or unistalling AVG?
Nothing to see here, move along.

what programme is it flagging up?
Has it only just started doing it? i.e since the last update0 -
A recent AVG update flagged up ZoneAlarm as a falsepositive.
And I don't understand why TorrestheGreat has dumped anti-virus software, seems silly really.0 -
Torrest thinks beacause he chooses not to run PC's with antivirus on then the whole world is wrong to use them ...
a proper suggestion is to do the following to make sure it's clean:-
Please download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and save it to your desktop.- Make sure you are connected to the Internet.
- Double-click on mbam-setup.exe to install the application.
- When the installation begins, follow the prompts and do not make any changes to default settings.
- When installation has finished, make sure you leave both of these checked:
- Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
- Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
- Then click Finish.
- MBAM will automatically start and you will be asked to update the program before performing a scan. If an update is found, the program will automatically update itself. Press the OK button to close that box and continue. If you encounter any problems while downloading the updates, manually download them from here and just double-click on mbam-rules.exe to install.
- On the Scanner tab:
- Make sure the "Perform Quick Scan" option is selected.
- Then click on the Scan button.
- If asked to select the drives to scan, leave all the drives selected and click on the Start Scan button.
- The scan will begin and "Scan in progress" will show at the top. It may take some time to complete so please be patient.
- When the scan is finished, a message box will say "The scan completed successfully. Click 'Show Results' to display all objects found".
- Click OK to close the message box and continue with the removal process.
- Back at the main Scanner screen, click on the Show Results button to see a list of any malware that was found.
- Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
- When removal is completed, a log report will open in Notepad.
- The log is automatically saved and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
- Copy and paste the contents of that report in your next reply and exit MBAM.

MBAM is better at dealing with Trojans but apologies as the advice I was "dissing" was not yours

MBAM is easier for the inexperianced as it automates the process but Spybot is also usefulEx forum ambassador

Torres has a point.
Remove all the Anti Virus checkers and never be bothered with false positives ever again, you won't even be hassled by the blimmin' thing if you ever DO get a virus.0 -
I tried to but couldn't as the free version doesn't give the option to do so.
Another one who installs a program but can't be bothered to learn how to actually use it!
You clicked ignore and it did ignore it, however you obviously did not add the program as an exception!
:rolleyes:Nothing to see here, move along.0 -
