Ing Promise?

In addition to the payments already made we are now able to confirm that all payments will arrive in their destination bank account by close of business Friday 17 October. There are a very small number of manual payment instructions which are still being processed and will take slightly longer.

Excerpt taken from an email received from ING, it would seem that I must come in the latter category of 'manual payment' as still haven't received anything into my nominated bank.

And with having a nightmare with Barclays pin sentry locking itself out and having to stay on hold for 30mins+ for telephone banking I am not able to cancel my standing order into KE.

You obviously haven't kept up with their website updates http://www.ingdirect.co.uk/kaupthingedge.asp
    UPDATE: FRIDAY 17TH OCTOBER, 14.45PM

    PAYMENT UPDATE
We continue to work through the backlog of payments and can confirm the majority of payments will be made by the end of today. Depending on the destination bank account, these payments will be credited at differing times throughout the day. A small number of manual payment instructions will take longer to process.
Thanks for your continued patience. We will continue to update you, via this page, about interest adjustments and refund of CHAPS fees, where applicable.

Whether I have or have not kept upto date seems to be irrelevant as what you have quoted is just a re hash of what I quoted.

'all payments' in your quote is hardly the same as 'the majority of payments' in their latest update.

Baldur if you read my initial post I did say that I must qualify for the latter 'manual payments'

From the many other threads on the subject:

Manual payments are reported to be carried out only in respect of transactions which were carried out by phone, rather than online.

ING staff are also reported to have been working on the backlog until 6 p.m. this evening, so even if they actually cleared all them by that time, at least some will not show up in customers' accounts until after the weekend.
