More than a little miffed at Asda

.... some advice would be a great help.
I ordered a PSP game in the sale at Asda online store (15th September) - reduced price of £7.73. I was well chuffed as it was for my nephews birthday. I got an email saying it was out of stock, but that they were doing their best to get it to me.
So, I waited and waited, then checked their website - there it was on sale at a much increased price.
I emailed to ask why it had not been shipped - the reply, that the items on the website have been sourced from a different supplier and if I wanted one I had to pay the increased price (£24.75). They were still trying to get the one I had ordered from their main source.
I am so angry, and cannot believe they will not ship me the exact same item. They have it in stock, but won't ship me one - so help, what do I do, I am getting nowhere with the customer service department?
Is it me - or is this nuts!

You're probably wasting your time. Don't get yourself worked up.
They should send it as a goodwill gesture in my opinion, but it's unlikely.
