Hi,
I am looking for an external hardrive. it will have to be at least 80gb but would prefer it to be 100gb+ and if possible to be apocket one as i dont want one that is pretty big. i will be using it with my laptop.
i am looking to spend £100 for it.
Any advice on external hardrives will be appreciated aswell.
Thanks,
Andy

They are certainly not pocket size from PC world.
You will not find one over 100GB that does not need an external Power Supply! Not unless you pay someone a lot of money anyway!!!!0 -
A look at https://www.pixmania.co.uk (by no means the best or cheapest dealer, just seem to have a good range) gives you your pick of 80GB 2.5" footprint drives from reliable manufacturers like Lacie and Teac and also relative unknowns like Memup.0

A pal bought the Freecom Toughdrive a few weeks ago. Nice piece of kit. You pay slightly more for the 'toughness' but it fits in the pocket perfectly, is usb powered and isn't too heavy. If I hadn't overspent on other techie stuff recently I would have a dabble at one myself. He sourced it from Bigpockets but it looks like they only do the classic range from freecom now. Pixmania will be as well priced as anyone.0

i have been looking for one for a while and even investigated buying a caddy and constructing my own but in the end i found a LaCie 250GB 7200RPM ext USB 2.0 Hard Drive 'P3 model' at savastore for £84.87 inc VAT which compared with other online retailers and even constructing your own is quite good. ended up £90 all in after delivery. I think its a pretty good price for a brand name drive.0

80GB USB2 drive for £45. Not USB powered though, I don't think, so it needs an external power supply.0
