Need help Before I Throw it Out Of The Window ! DVD Recorder

Have searched this Forum during last couple of days and yet I still don't get it! Have bought an Acoustic Solutions DVD Recorder with HDD - analogue tuner only. Have connected up to a TV that has no FREEVIEW included, I use a PACE DVTR box. TV has two scart sockets, PACE has only the one scart lead, I have SCART switching box also if necessary plus leads and scart leads. I only want to be able to set the TV using the DVD Recorder to record those channels available on FREEVIEW or terrestial - I don't want to watch one channel while taping another or anything complicated. I bought the DVD Recorder thinking I would be able to do this. Basically this TV is a spare for recording because the room its in is too cold to sit in anyway for any length of time. Please could anybody help by telling me yes or no you cannot do this and any advice how to connect up would help. I have looked at websites referred to in any forums and still I cannot figure it out. Which buttons to press on remote perhaps would help! Sorry for long post ... Many Thanks

Connect the PACE box to the DVD, then connect the second scart of the DVD to the tv. On the DVD rec select the AV scart you have used on the back (AV1 or AV2)."...IT'S FRUITY!"0

I dont known about the actual equipment in use but it should go as follows ~
A scart from the PACE box to 'AV2' in the recorder
Then another scart from 'AV1' (or maybe labelled 'TV') on the reorder to AV1 on the tv
Set the recorder to view/record 'AV2'. It should auto come up on the tv screen. If not then manually select AV1 on the tv remote.
If you can see the freeview channel this way, you should be able to record it to the hard drive.:idea:0
