Detach the attachment to a directory of your choice. Invoke your adobe reader and open the detached file. If this doesn't work, download the latest version. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

Sorry espresso, I've no idea how to do what you suggest. Can you explain it in very basic terms
Thanks0 -
I think he/she means save the file to your hard drive somewhere, open adobe, then up the top left click file>>>open and navigate to the file you just saved(the one you're trying to open)and see if it will then open.sorry if I'm off wrong but probably what I would try myself.0

Save the File in My Documents then go to My Documents.
Now Click on Tools, Folder Options, View, Now Take out the tick in Hide extensions for known file types, Now Click OK now Click on View refresh, now what does it say after the actual file name, i.e .doc0 -
Did what you suggested, it worked.
Simple when you know how
Thanks0 -
I "know how" because I have a similar problem with powerpoint files that are emailed to me, I must do the exact same thing to open them eventually ironed itself out and opens straight from emaill attachments now but for months i had to do what I just told you to0

So what does the extension say i.e or what If you need the program to open the file tell us what the extension is and im sure we can find a program to open it (associate) with it. Unless youve sussed it.
Dont forget to hide the extension again In my documents or if you rename the file with the extenxion showing you will make the file un-openable, probably.0 -
If the problem is the same as mines, then the file extension will be the correct one it just seems some files will not open straight from outlook express for some reason but once saved to hard drive they open ok0

I saved the e-mail attachment to my documents and did a right click and opened with adobe reader
PS still trying to find that elusive thumbs up0 -
