Peril of remote garage door openers

Just a small but significant warning:
I've been helping someone here with garage door openers. If you have a remote door opener in your car along with a scrap of paper with your address on it (an old envelope say, insurance details, breakdown cover, etc), and your car is stolen, the thief would have access to your house through the garage door assuming it's an integral garage you have.
If you've a remote garage door opener in your car, you really should have nothing with your address on it anywhere in the car.
