More petrol/exhaust fumes in the car??
We have had this problem since we got it and i am really getting f****d off with it now.
We have had the whole exhaust system replace,
All valves checked,
Sump checked,
Oil changed,
Tank drained and cleaned
It even had a full service and MOT last week, passed too!
It only happens when the gauge is below half way, every time i accelerate from turning a corner, when i come to a stop and when i have been driving for more than 5 mins. It also happens immediatly after filling up but not for long.
Any advice?
Nation wide can't find a fault and neither can kwik fit, Citroen wont say if there is a problem (51 plate pic 1.8 sx) but i can afford their fee to look at it (the rest did it pro-bono) they want £150 as they want to follow the fuel line from the inlet to the engine then back out again.

is it just nationwide and kwick fit youve been using for all the work?
id suggest trying another non chain garage...hard to diagnose it over the internet tho0 -
Are the fumes coming through the air vents at the front? Or are they more prevalent in the boot/back seat? Is it more noticeable when the engine is or has just been running?
Are there any clean bits around the petrol pipe joinings anywhere?
National chains are more geared towards ripping you off and replacing brake discs, brake pads, exhausts, tyres and that sort of thing0 -
i would check the seals on the boot, i drove along the motorway once and felt really ill when i got home, turns out the boot was not closed and all the fumes were coming in!
also take it to a local garage0 -
Is it petrol or exhaust fumes?Happy chappy0

So it's the breather pipe on the petrol tank then.....0
