Celotex Tuff R Insulation

On building regs. sheet i am required to fit some 90mm Celotex Tuff R insulation.

Anybody know anywhere to get these cheap, or is there an alternative product which would be acceptable to use which generally sells cheaper???

    Hi lagi

Ive purchased a fair quantity of 90mm celotex over the last few years and it has allways been very expensive imo. Most big places stock it but ive only ever bought through trade and the couple of times ive been discounted were only due to very large orders.

There are a few products out there as a substitute im sorry though i cant think of the name of the top of my head. They are still around the same price though i never found much difference in the cost.

Maybe if you are using at home could there be anyway you might recoup any of the cost to these new schemes run by the government and energy efficiency.

Thats a long shot but could be worth looking into. I have allways begrudgingly paid for celotex as it seems overpriced imo.

Sorry i couldnt be of more help.

Travis Perkins do it, but as mentioned is quite expensive. Think Kingspan do an equivalant

    Try Ebay.
I found 25 sheets of 1200x2400x100mm rigid PUR (Ceelotex, Kingspan etc).
Best Retail approx £30.00. I paid approx £18.00 / sheet.
Had to hire a van and pick it up though.

Have been looking at ebay. Just wanted to confirm what was equivalent.

If regs. say 90mm, is that a minimum?, so if i find some 100mm could i use that instead?

Would also try phoning www.seconds.co.uk I have found them very helpful. Have used them twice and they have been around a long time. Some of the boards come with very slightly damaged edges/corners or with a crease on the surface foil. Well worth it compared to First Quality boards from a builders merchant.

Just to update everybody, been ringing around for prices and contacted https://www.seconds.co.uk for a price. Although helpful they quoted £25 + vat per sheet. but found a couple of places that sell new for £24 + vat per sheet. Seconds won't change prices so just incase anybody else sees this post not to be fooled just because they are selling seconds they are any cheaper.

(Not sure if i can beat this price, but really would like to get it for £25 inc. vat, so will keep trying.)
