Outlook Express has deleted my emails!!!

I (admitedly) had about 180 emails in my inbox. Today I switched on and there were only 4. I had loads of important things I wanted to keep, including family photos I was sent just the other day and wanted to show my Mum at the weekend....

Help!!!

Has Outlook done this or did you? as there are two ways to deal with this.

You haven't got anything like it automatically setup to Compact your folders (as said in the mentioned thread [thread]122376[/thread]) as I know Microsoft Office Outlook can Auto Archive without even prompting you - you don't know it is doing it until you see it "Archiving..." in the corner.

it says in the Options "compact messages when there is 20 % wasted space"

    Should I decrease that?
