Is there any chance?

Im not working at the moment, but are looking for a full time job. I also have a CCJ, is there any chance that i could get a loan for £10,000? Or is there really no chance?

Thanks

You asked the question and you got a sensible helpful answer, just because it wasn't what you want to hear doesn't make it wrong.

To be honest I can't see how you would find a lender to provide such a large sum of money when you have no obvious means of income for repayment as well as your previous credit conduct.

Is the ccj now repaid? Is there a legitimate reason for you having a ccj?
and also is there a particular reason you are looking for 10k? If it is to repay existing debts it may be worthwhile having a look on the debt free wannabe board for advice on repaying these rather than applying for a loan which tbh I can't see you getting from what you have stated in your op.

How was it a helpful answer?
  • I wouldnt apply now, at least a few months after i have a full time job. Yes the ccj is now repaid...

It was a sensible answer in that currently there is no chance of you getting the loan you want. If and when you get a full-time job, there is a slightly greater chance, but until the CCJ comes off your credit history, that chance is minimal.

Ah, forgot to say that the CCJ will stay on your credit history and impact it negatively for 6 years after you settled it. This means that during this time even if institutions do agree to give you a loan, you won't get the best (or even good) rates.
  • Yeah i know that, it will be cleared soon anyway..

Yeah it was a sensible answer, but not a very helpful answer..

The original responder is quite correct.

Why do you need £10k? Apart from the CCJ what else does your credit file show? How much is the CCJ and when was it issued - this will have a huge bearing on the likelihood of getting credit.
