  • You will have a ball at the festival. I lived in Edinburgh for 5 years and the festival is brill!

And my friend lives there so it is MSE (except because the accomodation is free me and Oh are treating ourselves to our last night there in the Glasshouse)

I love Edinburgh but have never done the festival. How long ago were you living there?

I live in cheshire but could get to London quite quickly by train - I would love to meet up if you could cope with a teetotaller!

I don't have handbag addictions, sunglasses or shoes.... I hardly own any designer items - the most expensive item of clothing I have ever bought other than my wedding dress was about £140 and that was at university..... a long time ago!:rotfl:

My most expensive furniture purchase £1K on a 3 and 2 seater leather suite....

so where do my debts come from.....

frittering... bargains... too much food and takeaways, dvds, childcare bills, being over generous to others.... My OH spends quite a lot on gadgets and computer games too.... We've only had 2 or 3 holidays abroad since my DS was born 11 years ago....

For us debt was due to not cutting our cloth when 1 or other of us was out of work or studying... I just didn't understand how to budget until I found the forums last year... We are still nowhere near as good as we should be but at least we are getting there... When I was off with DS after birth we just spent as if I was still earning in full.... did similar with DD and when I was off sick.... or out of work...

    Which is why.....

I am so chuffed that I have been out of work for a while and not added to debt yet - not only that but I put away emergency fund in case this happened...:j which unfortunately we will soon have to start using

I haven't touched alcohol since I was really sick when I was about 23 (I'm 40 now), I hate being sick more than anything else in the world so I stick to the Pepsi Max/Diet Coke/Orange and Passionfruit J20.

Back to debt busting I've paid my minimum payment to Barclaycard £163, that will come out tomorrow, I got my child benefit today so that will cover the bill. I have a few more bids on my Ebay stuff that I listed last week on the free listing day. I have a few things finishing tonight when I am out so will relist those when I get back.

Today is DD1's sports day, so that will be nice.

    Hello all! :hello:

Back to work today after Glastonbury. :)
Has taken me some time to catch up with all handbag related drooling. :p

I'm with SH on bags, not that much of my thing. I'd go for the travel, holidays, gigs and other experiences, plus my hobbies. My wardrobe is almost none existent :( would love to have nice clothes and shoes though...maybe one day. To part with hundreds of pounds for a handbag, just don't think I could do that.

I live about 20 minutes of an airport too. But it's Cardiff airport! ;)

    Hope everyone's well.

    Hi all!

Well I have been quite good - I have lost another 1lb in weight which is good - walked to school and back twice today. Hung out washing despite on and off rain. Sorted clean washing pile into individual bags for family members plus piles where too big for a bag.... Did a teensy bit more on the kitchen.

Planning chicken fried rice diet style for tea - hope it tastes nice!

    Hope everyone else ok
