advice - a 'small' double bed?

Hi
A not-very-big bedroom requires a double bed but not the 'normal' size. A 'small' double bed!
Like for a 'guest' room.
Does it have a 'proper' name? And how much can 1 expect to pay for such a thing?
Thanks and pardon my ignorance

The beds are 4ft wide rather than the standard 4ft 6.
I too wanted one of the "small" double beds and ended up finding them in Argos!!

You can also buy them on ebay
Even found this company that sells the small double sheets for it.

We got two - 4'0ft beds, as everyone said they go by the name small double. We bought them for our teenage sons - modern metal frame style (they had others!) they both love them! ~~~~~~~~~often staying in them most of the day on Saturday:eek:
Beds To Go, good price etc... we bartered and got a good deal.

Thanks for the tip:T on the sheets - they were in a bit pricy even on Ebay! will order some on Monday - that was the only problem with the 4'0ft !What goes around comes around !! Simple but very true :rotfl:0 -

P.S. They are called "Queen Size Beds"0 -
I was under the impression they were called 3/4 beds- i.e. half way between the width of a single and a double.#145 Save £12k in 2016 Challenge: £12,062.62/£12,000.00 Beginning Balance: £5,027.78 CHALLENGE MET

Apologies if I've given the wrong name then - I always thought a queen size was a 4ft...
The Queen size must be one that's inbetween a double and a king size?
Oh well, the link I gave on my previous post was for 4ft beds.0 -
 Smudger, just thought i'd let you know about the company you recommended.
WOW 1st class service, phone on Tuesday PM ordered the sheets - paid over the phone.
Yesterday (AM Wednesday) - sheets in my hands FANTASTIC SERVICE. Have not checked quality yet - as one of my pet hates, bed clothes changing day!
Thanks again! What goes around comes around !! Simple but very true :rotfl:0
