I think i went in one of these many years ago on holiday in Devon/Cornwall , it was in the middle of nowhere and in a oldy worldy building with a moat or something in front of it like it could be out of Switzerland or somewhere, unless i was dreaming

I love Trago Mills, it's always on our list of days out when we go to Cornwall. It's a bit weird but wonderful. Yes love the peacocks and chickens! Pretty riverside walk and picnic area. Great art and craft dept. Havn't been for a few years so thanks to OP for reviving happy memories. Must go to Cornwall next year :j

Used to go to Cornwall/Devon nearly every year, when i was a child with the family and often take a day trip to Trago whilst there.

Used to love the slides that were virtually flat, anyone know if they're still there?

Trago Mills as changed alot since then. You either love it or hate it. You can get some great bargains there.

ah yes Trago. Never quite sure whether they're running a shop tho, or a UKIP recruiting office from their adverts in the local papers each week.
People seem to love Trago. To me tho, it's really full of cheap tat

I agree about the UKIP & tat :D - but saved £hundreds when re-fitting our bathroom a few years ago.
Shower tray and cubicle, Toilet, washbasin - brilliant prices. :money:
Garden centre also very good as ladysparklexx said.

When I was little we always used to go to Trago for our Christmas shopping - a real day out with a picnic, some spare crumbs for the ducks, especially the "Cardboard" ducks (mandarins to everyone else!!) and our saved up pennies. In those days it was a very primitive place, just sheds really in a great long sausage. Bargains galore, and a visit to a local wayside eating house on the way home - a real treat. We always bought our paint, wallpaper and DIY stuff from there, plus have had good furniture over the years. I was in the Falmouth branch just recently, and there are still plenty of bargains to be had, although my mum says prices have gone up quite alot recently. I have converted her to Wilkinsons which is opening up in Cornwall shortly, and she thinks they will do the competition good! For those who don't know, all the gargoyles and statues at Liskeard are likenesses of the local planning officers who have had a running battle with the owner's family for 40 + years. Still the cheapest place to get tea/coffee anywhere, and the meals are very good value. Anyone remember the old unisex toilets in the round buildings in the car park?

When I got a builder to build me a new shower room, the deal was that the first day of the work would be a day trip to Trago. I'd go round pointing to showers/enclosures, loos, sinks and picking tiles, he'd be spotting if I was making an error and making sure we bought all the right fixutres/fittings. I bought lunch too - I made some joke about "you can have anything you want... so long as it's under £3" and I think all the meals were under that price (might have been £4, or £5, but it was certainly a great hot lunch). I got everything I needed for an entire new shower room for under £1000, priced in the shops it'd have cost me £2000-2500. However ... beware.... a lot of the fittings are foreign and some articles are just seconds, so expect a few problems with a lot of their larger items. Holes don't line up or a hole isn't drilled properly. I think my plumbing parts were German standard sizes.
