Request from the Observer

The Observer is looking for someone to speak to for an article for this Sunday's paper. More details below:

I am keen to speak to people who exchanged a high-paying but stressful career for a gentler existence in the countryside - only to fall into debt and/or difficulties after failing to think through the full implications of such a radical lifestyle change.

The article is for this Sunday's Observer newspaper and needs to be written by Friday, so I would be massively grateful if anyone who wants to talk to me could ring me as soon as they possibly can.

My direct line is 020 7713 4997 and my mobile ( - & please feel free to call me however late you need to this evening) is 07967 366 938.

Many thanks and best wishes

Amelia Hill

  • She needs to find a very specific type of interviewee, research and write an article from scratch for this Friday, i.e. tomorrow? I'd consider that a tight deadline even if I already had a definite starting point. Remind me never to apply for work with the Observer!

Yeah, like you'd admit to that? Why give people the chance to say "Yep, told you so, but you wouldn't listen." "I was doing really well in my job but I'm a right numptie 'cos I gave it all up and now I'm broke and depressed" (and in the Priory)

Not sure how to link the archived discussion, but a while ago a lady started a thread in regard to downshifting and how this had affected her life ( I think she awapped a high powered job for a life in the country ) I think she would be ideal for this article. The search for her post is below.
