Selling car at Auction and DVLA

I'm a novice never done this before, intend selling my old car what should i do with the registration document is this kept by the auction company and do they fill out the details of the new buyer?, what do i send if anything to the DVLA when i will not know who the new buyer may be. The last thing i want is speeding/parking tickets arriving.

Any advice appriciated.

You had the registration document over to the auction. They take care of all of it or should do. If you've not got a change of ownership notification from DVLA within 30 days of the car selling, contact DVLA and explain it to them.

Should you not fill out section 9 of the Registration form and send to DVLA when you know the car has sold as their is always the possibility it won't sell and will be scrapped, (this is the section for Notification of Sale/Transfer to the Motor Trade) which includes a Vehicle Auctioneer.

Yes that's right. Fill out Section 9 and return. Give rest of V5C to auction house so they can sell vehicle on. You should get a letter from DVLA to confirm disposal within 4weeks, chase it up after 4weeks if not received.
