Trying to set up a XP computer with dial up and finding that although the connection speed is the same as the old 98SE computer, webpages take a lot longer to load.
Anyone know why & how to fix it without spending money on the problem

I found that the xp firewall slows things down with slower connections.
Try killing the firewall and use zonealarm instead - worked for me.I know nothing - really!!0 -
I've found that Opera is about the fastest browser out there. This could help speed up your browsing. How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

Already using Zonealarm so that isn't the problem. Loath to try another browser as that just masks the problem.0
