XP & Dial Up

Trying to set up a XP computer with dial up and finding that although the connection speed is the same as the old 98SE computer, webpages take a lot longer to load.

Anyone know why & how to fix it without spending money on the problem

I found that the xp firewall slows things down with slower connections.
Try killing the firewall and use zonealarm instead - worked for me.
    I know nothing - really!!

I've found that Opera is about the fastest browser out there. This could help speed up your browsing.

Already using Zonealarm so that isn't the problem. Loath to try another browser as that just masks the problem.
