Advice on small leak on cold water tank

I have just had my cold water tank in the loft replaced with a new plastic one. About three days after it was fitted a small drip appeared on the pipe that supplies the bath room. Its on the screw join, in the thread between the tank and the pipe.

I called the engineer out and he told me it was nothing to worry about and would fix its self. A week later and the drip is back, the water not the engineer.

I check it every day so I know it is a very slow leak that amounts to a couple of drips a week. Is this a problem ?

Yep this is a problem, leaks dont fix themselves, if they did we could bin the plumbers get the plumber back to put some ptfe tape on the thread before he recouples it.

What the plumber meant was that it was not a problem for him. However, it is a problem for you. It is so easy to fix that I cannot understand why he did not do it. Probably because he did not want the trouble of draining the tank down. As webwalker says, leaks do not usually fix themselves. If you cannot do it yourself, then get the plumber back. The whole point of plumbing is to contain water where you want it to be, not where it wants to be.
I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.
