claiming for IB

Hi guys,
Here we go i have put in a claim for IB a couple of weeks ago i received a letter this morning saying i need to provide a sick note basically which i can get!
The problem i have is the only money i have coming in is CB and DLA lower rate which the DLA is paid every 4 weeks, luckily my CB is paid every week for the moment, i ain't receiving Tax Credit as i have change my circumstances as my partner moved in!!
My partner doesn't earn a lot around £30 a week they only work 18 hrs at the moment due to being self employed so this is what we live on
a week :-
CB :-£43.90 (3 Children youngest 5 months)
DLA :- £69.80 ( a month)
Partners income around £30.00 ( maybe different as they my have work or not)
total £73.90 (give and take £30.00 as i said partner ain't guaranteed work!)
So minus the £30.00 = £43.90 a week for a family of 5 Hmmm
I know some people can live like this and thats good for them we live on tesco value stuff and try to manage with every thing being very expense it's hard!
We haven't got any other source of money coming in can't we claim something else in the mean time i don't want to get a loan as we would never be better off as we would then be paying the extra Money from benefits back out!!
Our food comes to around £35-40 then the rest goes onto gas and electric if we are struggling then we just have the gas on to warm the water and switch it off and have the heating on for about 2 hrs aday to try and cut down on the money spending!
The £68 goes on travel expences once a month due to a court order my eldiest 2 children have to stay with there dad for 2 nights and its around 200 miles away!
Please help

Obvious answer appears to be that one or both of you needs to get a job - the s/e business is obviously not working.
If you cant get a sick note I presume that means your doctor does not think you warrant one and therefore you aren't entitled to IB.
Tax credit changes are usually pretty quick unless you have arrears that you are paying back hence no payments.0 -

That is bad hun, you could speak with the Job centre and get a Crisis loan but apart from that your stuck untill you IB comes in.
Seeing as your partners earning is so low you should get some tax credits, I'd call them if I were you, my claim for IB took weeks and when I did get the money it was back dated which was fantastic, atleast it will help pay for Christmas when you get it.
I am sorry you are finding it so difficult I know what its like, have you tried getting Surestart Vouchers for your milk?? that may help even if its a little bit.0 -
Hello again confused2008-
I'm sorry if my reply seemed irksome and only worsened your no-way-forward spiral of thinking.
Getting that sick note seems key, so what is the obstacle to this? I say this only in response to your 'as soon as I can'.....it's priority.
Is a home visit from Dr out of the question?.
Why not post an SOA here and ask for advice.

I didn't think the Dr would come out to me just for a sick note!!
I have Acrophobia i can't leave the house, i thought they would have taken this into account as i supplied my Dr's address twice!!0
