Re-painting range cooker

We are looking for a range cooker for our new house, there seem to be some cheap coloured range cookers about, usually green or blue.

What paint would people recommend for repainting them?

Its the oven doors that need painting, they get warm but not hot.

Could I rub them down and use car spray paint? I don't know if that will be durable enough.

Any Ideas?

depends on which color you want.
hammerite make enamel radiator paint that is good for 80c, and also a high temp paint.
(aerosols).
think the color choices are poor though?

Noo don't use car paint. Stove enamel is available from most hardware and decorators stores and is available in a range of colours, radiator enamel would work but it's often a bit messy(for me anyway). Did a google and found this one. Hope it helps you decide. You could of course get it factory recoated, as these stoves last a lifetime the outlay would be worth it.
