I may be affected, but only if we go it all gets much worse than it is now.

I feel my job is at risk as a direct result of current economic conditions.
I am involved in testing, related to the construction industry .
We still have plenty of work ..Although we have had 3 companies we deal with go into liquidation .
This could cause major problems if a client who has not paid for a while was to go under .

No, I have no fears about job security.
I'm a social worker working in a specialist adult mental health service. I'm feeling fairly confident that my job is as secure as it is ever possible to be.

Definitely the best move, HSMP costs a packet.

I'm a barrister, doing most immigration work, and a bit of immigration-related crime.

Most of my work is public-law type immigration - judicial review, Court of Appeal, that kind of thing. Plus some Tribunal work.

I'm currently applying to join the Attorney-General's List so that I can get work from the Treasury SOlicitors.

Don't want to burst your bubble, but adult mental health is such a cinderella specialty it always bears the brunt of budget cuts. In the 17 years I've been working in the nash I've seen the service be chipped away to a shocking level, but I'm sure there's always room for more savings.

Regional Electricity Company. Although we are a private company our income is controlled by the regulator and paid for out of the public electricity bill. Plus the company would simply not function if they got rid of any more of us field staff it struggles to work at the moment. Plenty of “made up job’s” in the office that could stand to be cut though.

I work for a security company specialising in the security of vacant commercial and residential buildings & property. We are able to undercut competitors by at least 50% of their current security costs. We are pretty busy to be honest.

Is my job safe? Well im not 100% sure but we save hard, have v low overheads and if my job goes we will take our money and go travelling and volunteering overseas.

My dad OTOH is staring it in the face, he works for a fruit & veg importer & distributor and is noticing forst hand the demise in the business, most of the stuff he sells is to trade - hospitality and retail, and has seen demand dropping.
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

I work for a Fund/Asset Mgmt firm, which is definately affected by the current turmoil. Redundancies are looming, with official consultation period due to start next week.

Not yet clear wether I will personally be at risk. Im relatively new to the company, i so I feel that theres a good chance I will be going.

However, I have been looking at the job market, and it seems like there is definately work out there. Just have to wait and see what happens.

I'm a Soldier (17 years so far) so like to think my job is pretty safe (in the sense of not getting made redundant) and if this credit crunch continues on after 5 years (when i'm due to get out) i can easily stay on, so i'm not concerned.
If you find yourself in a fair fight, then you have failed to plan properly

I've only ever been wrong once! and that was when I thought I was wrong but I was right
