Broken Television - Am I Covered?

Hi everyone,
I purchased a Sanyo HD Television from LX Direct around 18 months ago - i stupidly didn't complete any of the manufacturers warranty / registration forms which come with a new television
I have switched my television on a few days ago to find that i have 'screen burn' , ie i can see the logo from one of the freeview radio stations on my screen in a ghostly image, no matter which channel i view - it's particularly bad when playing xbox 360 games, which is the television's main purpose
I didn't take out any extended warranty with LX Direct, but the problem with the television is rendering it unusable
What are my rights in this situation?
Thanks so much for any and all advice,
CFM

does that right extend itself to screenburn?
i read on one website that screenburn isn't considered a 'fault' , which seems odd given that it very directly affects the viewing quality of the television, but it made me panic when i read it!
thanks for the reply so far, i appreciate it very much :beer:0 -

Have you tried anything to remove the screen burn?
Most new LCD TVs have an option within their settings menu, where by you can set the screen to a bright image. this should be left on you screen for an extended period of time.
This can help clean the current burnt in images.0 -
Screen burn is such a common issue that you should not leave the set switched on to the same image for long periods of time. The instruction manual will probably say this. If you listen to radio through the TV for extended times, you should turn the brightness right down.
Finally, don't forget to email your views to the stations that transmit logo's, you'll notice some are worse that others with high contrast images. Let them know you won't visit their station again til they switch it off or at least lower the level of their logo!Signature on holiday for two weeks0
