I don't know anything about home insurance so far.
If am planning to take a Home Insurance, but I wouldn't need it for long (may be 3 - 6 months).
Is it possible to take a insurance and cancel it after 3 months, or I would be tied up with a 12 month contract?.

Depends entirely on the insurance company. Most of them have some kind of penalty for cancelling within 12 months ... some it is £10, some you get no refund (and some give you a full pro-rata refund back). The best thing to do is to ring round and get quotes ... tell them about your plans to cancel and ask about refunds ...

Or 'phone/e-mail some and ask if they offer short term policies.0
