Our paving flags are very slippy any ideas to clean them?

All our paving flags down the side of the house have become very slippy, they have gone green think it might be moss or something like that. Do you know what we can clean them with to get rid of it. I`m frightened someone might slip.

Thanks

Sorry but my advice is a cheap ........ pressure washer
By the time you have bought a few tins of Jeyes fluid and spent hours with a scrubbing brush to get only a half decent job. A pressure washer will look good value.

Have got pavers in the front garden/drives and flags on the patio i.e a large area of hard landscaping. No scrubbing for me , I just stand there with a hose in in my hand :rotfl:

Ha Ha, you got a thanks instead of a quote :rotfl:

You could use a scrubbing brush but a lot of hard work, and be careful to use protective clothing, rubber gloves, eye goggles.

Can you borrow/hire a pressure washer?

I just use diluted bleach in a watering can. On a nice sunny day pour it on and it shifts most of it by end of the day sometimes use a stiff brush.

Thanks, think I`ll go any grovel at my parents... sure dad has one somewhere! By the way, I wouldn`t be the one on my hands and knees scrubbing but I am very good at supervising..

I've been doing mine with a pressure washer but my neighbour who is a builder came out and said that whilst it does work it does also create more work:

You need to make sure you put down sharp sand between the gaps in the paving blocks as pressure washer blasts out the soil/sand and

You should paint on a sealant afterwards

Thanks, our flags are quite old and we really need a new patio and driveway.. but that will come in time. Don`t even think there is anything in the gaps.

Have just got pressure washer from back of dads shed, so hubby can have a fun weekend!
