Wow, BT actually ARE competent

I moved not so long ago and the new home had a landline and dial tone in it. I called BT to connect me up and they said no probs babe and that there'd be no connection fee since there was already a dial tone. Then I got my first bill through - asking me for £124.99 connection fee. I called to query and got some dude for whom English clearly wasn't his first language and he hung up on me after a few minutes.

I then got a rude reminder bill asking me to cough up the £124.99.

Out of desperation to get to the bottom of the problem, I contacted the Chairman's Office. Lo and behold within a matter of hours they had wiped the £124.99 off my bill - and apologized profusely.

I am really quite satisfied.

It was nowhere near as disturbing as having to deal with Tiscali:eek:
