Business Account - More than one name???

I have an abbey business account and basically it is under my business name of "Skinnybeans" and my own name of "S Greene" so I can have cheques paid in under both names...

Anyhow I also now have another money spinner on a website called "whatever.com", now I want cheques paid into me under this name too...

but Abbey won't allow this, some woman I spoke to reckons you have to have a seperate account for every type of business you have for tax reasons and would not allow this.

personally I think this is BS and it is up to me to declaire tax, which I DO!!! and not down to them, I simply want them to accept a cheque under another name.

She said the only way I could do it is if the business was the same type... I reckon I smell something!

Let me knOW! 8)

I have an Abbey account to make use of their free banking. But, i also have a 'real' business bank account with HSBC. As they offer many facilities for my business which a 'bank' like Abbey can't.

They have allowed me three different business names on my account.

    Are there many charges?

    Thanks Again!

    hi,
It is a business current account.

I've had mine for a few years now and when i initially joined there was the offer of free banking fo a year. However, recently there were some changes by all banks on charges and facilities for business bankers after a report by a particular body.
