Mamas and Papas mattress

I bought a mamas and papas mattress in May ready for our new baby arriving in June. She hasn't used the mattress yet but it has been on the cot with the bedding on since just before she arrived at the end of June. I stripped the bedding from the cot the other day to wash it ready for use and find the mattress cover VERY discoloured yellow which I am thinking has something to do with the foam mattress inside. Should I make a formal complaint to Mamas and Papas, with a view to receiving a replaceement, as the replies that I've received to my emails have said that this yellowing is a natural process. I'm just wondering if its a lot of hassle to get nothing out of it?

  • Is the cot new? We had the same problem but i think it was the stain coming out of the wood and apparently this can happen over several months as the wood settles. There was a small warning about this when we assembled the cot but in the end we bought another mattress as the one which came with the cot was too thin.

No, the cot is seven years old. The mattress is new though, bought it in May. Not even used it yet but the top cover of the mattress is stained yellow. Am waiting for a Manager to ring me back!
