Child Benefit..still waiting 6 months on!

Hi Just wondered if anyone else had the same problem.I put My Child benefit forms in 2 weeks after my little one was born and shes now 6months and no news on the child benefit.I have phoned several times and have been told that there is no problem with the claim and that its with the section waiting to be processed.
Is anyone else having the same problem?Any sugestions as to what I can do as i have been given no inkling as to when this might be resloved.

Crikey that is such a long time to wait. My second child was born on 4th September and i sent off his birth certificate around 3 weeks after that. My next child benefit payment is due next Tuesday but on checking my banking online i noticed that i had a payment yesterday for my son to bring me up to date.

only consolation is that you will receive a nice lump sum when they get it sorted for you. i hope it is sorted soon.

Would suggest you try to speak to a team leader the next time you phone.

I don't know your circumstances but if you are an EEA foreign national it is currently taking at least 6 months for claims to process as checks have to be with the home country to confirm no comparable benefits are being claimed there.

If you are British call them again and ask to speak to a team leader and lodge a complaint.

  • You need to speak to someone in authority because something similar happened to me.

I was told everything was ok.......when it turned out it wasnt and i did NOT get back payments for more than 3 months....even though it was their fault.
