Online photo printing query

Im a bit confused, have just uploaded a load of digital photographs to Asda`s online storage/printing service.

Now my confusion is basically that on my computer for example picture 1 has a file size of 1.5mb and on Asda`s website picture 1 is showing a file size of 400kb.

I thought picture quality was based on file size ie bigger is better(i know there is other stuff involved).

Will the pictures still look the same even though the file size is smaller.

Hopefully i have explained my confusion properly.

Help a poor confused person please:D
Cheers:beer:

The asda website has probably resized your photo when you uploaded it. But even for a regular 6x4 photo 400k seems a little small.
