There is a fantastic Rolex shop on the main street in Gibraltar.0

Buy second hand, get a fully service history, boxes etc.
It will last a lifetime.
Don't buy new - damned expensive
I'm not sure your advice is right wrt Rolex's in particular.
The second hand price are high, so there isn't much of a discount.
The best approach seems to be haggling and I know from experience that you can et a good discount.
Also the problem with second hand ones is telling whether it's genuine.
It's very hard to tell the different and there are fakes out there with boxes, paperwork etc.
I know it's limiting but the only way to know that ou have a genuine one is to go through an authorised dealer.0 -

Unfortunately, I believe that after over 100 years of service, the Red House has now closed for business. It survived the Great Depression and two world wars, but not it seems, the credit crunch.
The phone number for the Red House was (00 350) 200 77188, I'm not sure whether that will still get you anywhere.
You could also try searching for William Sefarty himself on google, facebook, or websites like 123 People.0 -
Rolex's:
Best quality - Dubai - £30
Throw away/replace quality - Any beach in Spain, Southern France or Italy - £10-£20
THE most copied watch on the planet. Pay through the nose for a real one and everyone and their dog assumes you bought it as above.
The only advantage is that unless you walk out of a door in Mayfair any mugger worth his/her salt will also assume it's a fake and leave you alone.
They are crap and blingy anyway. Any serious watch wearer woulddn't be seen dead in one.
I'd rather have a Timex!
I've had a Seiko Kinetic for 20 years. I'm looking to update it with another but I'm not really taken with their current designs. I'm just waiting for their next new range. The one I've got has survived Disney waterparks for 8 seperate visits over the years. I ride a motorcycle in all weathers, been abroad several times touring. I never take it off apart from going to bed. It's never missed a beat!0
