Sold a large pram on EBay now can't find reasonable courier!

Hiya,

We have just sold a large pram on EBay, which measures just over 1m long. It's not particularly heavy but it is bulky.

I've looked on-line for a few quotes but so far can't find a reasonably priced courier - for example Parcels2Go would only quote pallet delivery at over £100 due to the size of the item.

Can anyone advise of a courier that can help me please.

We're in Kent and sending the parcel within the UK (to the Northwest).

Thanks in advance.
All I seem to hear is blah blah blah!

  • what about red star- 'british rail's station to station service?

i would have thought, when selling something this big, del costs would have been checked into first, so no nasty surprises!

Can you send it as two parcels?

I bought a pram from ebay, and the lady sent the folded chassis in one parcel, and then the body of the pram plus the accessories in another parcel.
Here I go again on my own....

you could also post this question on the help forums actually on ebay - the experienced/power sellers will be happy to share their knowledge with you.

    good luck x

Cheers, I'll take a look on EBay.

i did check out how much everyone else was charging for similar items but didn't realise at the time that some couriers wouldn't be interested. A lesson learned !!

    Hi JWF

You should get some helpful suggestions over on the ebay and other auctions board, so I've moved the thread over there for you. :)

Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. • hello ..

ive sent pushchairs via parcel force in the past .

do you still have the box for the pushchair ? ..

i sent our old maclaren twin techno at the beginning of the year through paypal - parcel force 48rs .. they are cheap .. do you have the weight for the pushchair ? ..

i posted it via parcel force / paypal - £9.99 it was cheaper than the parcel force website , which quoted almost £20.00

if your not sure of the weight , goto the website that makes your pushchair and it should say the weight of the pushchair , thats what i did .. i did add a bit extra weight just incase ..

paypal / parcel force contact your buyer with a tracking number its so easy to use ..

smaller parcels i usually take them to our local post office and they can send them as well using parcel force .. but they won't accept very big parcels ..

take a look at your paypal account to see how much it will cost , as i said before ive used it twice and ive not encounted any problems ..

    see you from kerry ..
  • I always use parcel force for prams. 1m is not that long for a pram and ive sent bigger through parcelforce. They always cost me around £18.
