I would really appreciate a copy of the Oticon Zest hearing aid specification, for my 'library'. I don't know if it's possible to send a pdf file via the Private Message function on here, but if you can I would be very grateful indeed.0 -
Hi Guardsman,
recently I asked the Oticon NHS contact person for the technical specifications of the Spirit Zest HA, and promptly I got the answer with a datasheet as a pdf-file. I can share it with you if you want.
Kind regards.
Yes please and thank you for the reply.I think the surest sign that intelligent life exists elsewhere in the universe is that none of it has tried to contact us.0 -

How would that work if you go out for dinner? You'd either need to hear or eat surely can't do both at the same time?0

I struggle to understand why some people won't wear them because they are visible.
Im 44, worn aids in both ears since I was small...I find that some peoples attitudes can change when they clock the aids...Ive had many peeps go from talking to me at a normal volume then see the aids and start shouting and making exagererated mouth movements:rotfl:All this does is make it even harder to lip read:eek:
Ive got used to it over the years but maybe for some peeps they are a little more sensitive to the fact that they are deaf?...Attitudes ARE changing but like everything else its never very fast...And at the end of the day peeps are only trying to help...:):heartpuls Gains & £'s saved..Far too many to mention! Tip to all of you (and I know I bang on about this all the time!) but see if you can find a local lipreading class. Learning to lipread isn't like learning a language, and even after 3 years I'm still hopeless, BUT what I've learned about coping and dealing with deafness makes it all worthwhile.
Of course it doesn't help that the local College, which used to offer an evening class for lipreading, decided that anyone with a hearing loss must be able to attend during the day, because we obviously wouldn't be working, would we? So for a couple of years there wasn't a class I could attend. My teacher's got round that by going freelance ...
Im not sure if this has been brought up before but lip reading classes are under threat...

Mum had her Audiology assessment in the week & will soon be wearing OTE aids where she had privately funded ITE ones. She's not happy--a slave to vanity--but has accepted there are too many hurdles to once again, funding them herself.
The nurse has suggested two or three drops of room temperature olive oil once a week to help keep the wax at bay, doing one ear one night & the other on a different night. This will let you lay with your head on one side to allow time for the oil to travel down & into the ear canal, & soften any wax. DON'T use cotton buds thoHTH.
