I don't know if I'm too late, but have you tried advertising it on your local freecycle for those who are looking for wood for wood burning stoves at this time of year?
I know any wood advertised on ours at this time of year gets snapped up so it might be worth a shot, they even come and pick it up so no need for your fleet of lorries for disposal.0 -
You may not be allowed to have a bonfire in your garden. Phone you local firestation and ask. Instead of burning, phone cleansing department and ask for a special uplift.0

Well done cheekyweegit! That was a brilliant idea, I just hope the deed hasn't been done and that someone at least may benefit.

Rather than burn them, why not put them in a bag or box and take to your nearest recycling place? It seems such a shame to just burn them when they can be used for compost or similar.
Sue
Our council does tri weekly collections, one week its bottles etc, the next papers, and the third garden waste. It's a really pity that not all local authorties do this :-(0 -

Thanks a lot for that bit of info Mithos. They don't do the disposal of any garden waste here either, but it's an idea to put forward to local Councillors as there must be an awful lot of folk who have problems. My hubby even goes to another village to collect a friend's garden waste, her neighbour's too.
Let's hope someone might listen if we tackle them. Worth a try!
