Amazon Postal problem

A buyer purchased a book at 12.30am this morning. I sent him an email at 8am to thank him for his purchase and to let him know that it would be sent first class this morning which i did. This afternoon at 3.30pm i recieved an email asking for the book to be sent to a different address. I emailed him to say that it has been dispatched to the address provided in the sale confirmation this morning. Is there anything else i could do?

  • no, you have done as per process. no longer your problem.........they should have given the other address earlier, not 15 hours later!!!!

Like jaghir said, there isn't anything else you can do.

I had an American buyer write to me the other day after I had dispatched their order (standard airmail). They said that that they had made a mistake on their address and wanted me to get in touch with Royal Mail to get it changed. :wall:
  • I know i shouldn't but i feel awful about it. I hope it comes back promptly. I have had two thank you in the last two days for the quality of the books and how promptly i get the books to them.

I know how you feel. i always feel rotten when something like this happens, even if it's not my fault. You've just got to let it go though.

I sympathise. You do your best for buyers either on ebay or Amazon and still feel bad when 'they' mess up.

Hopefully the original address was not a valid one and the book will just come straight back, although with Christmas post and all that I can't see it happening very quickly.

    Good luck.

  • Thanks!

It seems he ordered it for a friend but the friend has moved. I sent the address a letter first class this morning asking the current occupants to return to sender if they already haven't. It is the best i can do, if it comes back i will drop it off personally as the alternate address he gave is just around the corner from work. If he gave me that address in the first place he could have had it in his hot little hand 8 hours after ordering!
He mentioned that he ordered the book six months ago but i only listed it on Monday. Strange.....

Which magazine recommendes a site were it was only something like £0.07 per track.
Someone may be able to remember the name, I will see if I can find it.
