LCD TV burning smell, any ideas?

Options
My 9 month old Toshiba 32c3035 TV has just started letting off a burning plastic kind of smell. It stared earlier this evening and has got quite strong now. There's no smoke coming out of it and it's working fine, no picture or sound problems. What could be causing this and should I expect it to go bang sometime soon?

It's plugged into a tower plug socket thingy if that makes any difference?

I bought it from Amazon, but I can't find what their returns procedure is after something is more than 30 days old.

Any words of wisdom gratefully received as it's my first LCD tv, so I have no experience of this type of thing.

LCD televisions often have an onboard power supply unit/regulator. This may be overheating.
The Toshiba should come with a 12 month manufacturers warranty.
Contact Amazon for advice on repair or replacement.

Ensure nothing is blocking the vents.
