That I hopefully get back from ING on Friday? I am prepared to send some of it winging its way back to ING if the interest rate is good enough !??
I have started to open an internet account with Bradford and Bingley today and have even written (but not posted) a cheque as an opening deposit.(One of Martins tips.... Dont laugh now
)
BUT-
Both of these banks are now foreign owned and I have slight misgivings!
I know that lots of people on here are in the same boat as me.
What are your recomendations. :A

I would recommend Nationwide and Norwich & Peterborough Building Societies.
Been with Nationwide some years but since all the worry about the 35/50k guarantee started I've been transfering savings to different institutions. I like to keep to UK and building societies if possible.
Norwich & Peterborough were quick and efficient is setting up an account. The account was up and running in less than a week, passwords etc received. AND they could verify ID electronically.
Still trying to find other building societies who can do this, and not to have to send personal documents through the post, be it copies or not.0
