Hello,
I'm trying to install 2x1GB RAM (PC3200 DIMM 400MHZ DDR 184Pin) for my Dell Dimension 2400 desktop PC.
I placed both modules in the machine and it wouldn't even boot. As a result I've had to replace the RAM I had previously (768MB total).
I checked on the website and the RAM should be compatable with my computer, the manual also seems to suggest this, I contacted the seller and they suggested I update my BIOS?
I've never done this before, and I couldn't find an update on Dell's website, only the original driver (from 2003) which I would assume I already have. Can anyone help!?
Cheers

Hey man, I am having the same problem you were having. I am trying to install a 1gb memory stick into my 2400 and it won't even boot. It's ddr and pc3200 and verified compatible and my bios version is A05 so I am not sure what to do. How did you fix your problem??
Thanks!0 -
About three hours ago I installed a 1 GB PC2700 memory stick from Crucial, instead of an original 256 MB stick, into a Dimension 2400 with BIOS A05 (the last version they did). Took about a minute and worked perfectly...0
