Steam inhalation: Bowl of hot (not boiling !) water on the table, sit down, head bent over it, towel over the head, and breathe ... May take 10-15 mi for best effect.
Cheap and effective.
You can add oils such as eucalyptus to the water, but it's not really necessary, it's the steam that does the work.0 -

No, that product is a waste of time and money. All chesty cough medicines are a waste of time and money, only having a placebo effect, but pulmo bailly does not make sense. Chesty cough medicines contain expectorants, which supposedly help break up and liquefy what's on your chest so you can bring it up. If you have a dry, tickly cough then you want a cough suppressant such as pholcodeine or codeine. Pulmo bailly contains an expectorant and a cough suppressant - a combination which makes no sense at all.0 -

MEDICAL ADVICE
Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this: Sorry, giving or asking for medical advice is not permitted on this forum as it’s not what this site is about. While discussing medical insurance policies, cheaper ways to see consultants, cashback for alternative health treatments and how to get specific medication cheaper (legally) are all perfectly acceptable we ask you specifically not to discuss what to do in the event of certain medical problems (please see this rule on the Health Board). If you have any questions about this policy please email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com.
If it's not bad enough to see your GP again, then talk to your local pharmacist: they do now ask what kind of cough it is!

I always think resting up is a good idea
seriously though just giving your body a chance to recover does help a bit...
