  • I have just finished placing my order for save the date magnets from vistaprint thanks to an idea I saw posted on MSE.:D I got the magnets on a special free offer I recieved in an e-mail but paid £3.49 to upload a photo to use on the magnets.I was getting business postcards anyway so they didnt cost me in postage either.I have used a night time image of my castle venue with white text over the top, hope it turns out as I expect. Will let you know what they are like when they arrive but I expect them to be lovely.
The minimum order was 25 magnets and I only needed 10 but they were free so it doesnt matter that I will have extra left over.

I am planning to give the save the date magnets out to my wedding party just after 5th Nov this year so thats 1 year to go till the actual wedding.Do you think thats okay timing for save the date cards or should I wait a bit longer?
BE CAREFUL!! THEY HAVE BEEN TAKING £14.95 FROM MY CREDIT CARD FOR MONTHS
  • You need to be careful not to sign up for anything as you go through the checkout like VPRewards or something. It's fine if you aware but many people are too 'click happy'!

Jennifer - if you ring them they will sort it out for you.

It all works out good in the end.
If it's not good, it's not the end!
  • how do you get free save the date magnets - i really want some lol
if you go to www.vistaprint.com and register on there but dont place an order yet they will start sending you e-mails with links to get free stuff.I have used vistaprint quite a bit for business stationery and really like them. They send e-mails with special offers to me weekly at least. At the moment they are sending me offers for free stuff with free postage.I have already ordered all I need for now though.

Absolutely agree.Be careful what you click on.They also offer loads of matching items and extras and you have to be carefull to select the basket at the end with just what you ordered in there.
The first time I ordered I somehow ended up signed up for that VIP rewards thingy too but just phoned to sort it out.
Now that I know how their checkout and add on sales work I love them.

  • My save the date magnets arrived today, much quicker than expected, and they are fab.I am glad I chose the night time image of my castle as the photo has come out just as it was on the screen so the daytime one wouldnt have been a good enough quality photo to use.
Now I have the business card sized magnets I have to think of a nice way to perhaps add them to a card or some way to send them so they look professional.I thought of using card blanks and just snipping corners to inset the magnet in the centre.I would also like to somehow incorporate the wedding colour(purple) into it somehow but cant think how.
    Any ideas welcome.
This is the image I used, but the magnets are just business card size, and I have used left align text in white(with our names, wedding date, venue and added formal invitation to follow at the bottom)so it stands out against the night time photo. How could I display this to bring in purple?

  • vistaprint have save the date cards too and you could add old photos of you and hubby2b as kids. You use your current names on the save the dates and invites but if you change your name after the wedding you would use Mr & Mrs on any thank yous you sent out afterwards.
You can use anything as a save the date card,W H Smith have some lovely photo image cards,I especially love the one which is a photo of a heart made of red roses, you can just write or print your own insert.

I also got my save the date magnets with a hot pink gerbera picture on them from vistaprint and recently sent them out. To incorporate my colour theme of green I went to the Range and found some really nice quality green card that had slight texture and shinyness to it (approx 79p per large a3 size) as well as some white mulberry tissue paper. I chopped the card down into postcard sizes and then did the mulberry tissue paper into pieces just bigger than the magnet and stuck it into the middle of each card. I then used one blob of white tack to attach each magnet in the middle. I was really pleased with how they turned out - just popped them in an envelope with a little rhyme to explain about the magnet! Don't know if this idea is any good for you but makes it easy to tie the purple in. If you'd like to see a picture of how mine turned out contact me by PM and I'll email you one.
  • do the vistaprint items have "vistaprint" on them somewhere? Am sure I have seen business cards with a small vistaprint logo on the back before

Some items do have vistaprint on them, but there's usually an option to remove it
