save the date magnets

I have just finished placing my order for save the date magnets from vistaprint thanks to an idea I saw posted on MSE.:D I got the magnets on a special free offer I recieved in an e-mail but paid £3.49 to upload a photo to use on the magnets.I was getting business postcards anyway so they didnt cost me in postage either.I have used a night time image of my castle venue with white text over the top, hope it turns out as I expect. Will let you know what they are like when they arrive but I expect them to be lovely.
The minimum order was 25 magnets and I only needed 10 but they were free so it doesnt matter that I will have extra left over.

I am planning to give the save the date magnets out to my wedding party just after 5th Nov this year so thats 1 year to go till the actual wedding.Do you think thats okay timing for save the date cards or should I wait a bit longer?

hi ya ive bought these but instead of save the date magnets we done a table greeting ie: thank you for attending the wedding of mr franklin and mrs franklin 5th september 2009 , we done them in our wedding colours and were going to put them in holders and put on the tables then people can take them as a momento at the end of the night , we only paid a few pounds postage too but well worth it xx

You could always send them out with Christmas cards? We sent ours out in February for our July wedding, but a friend of mine has already given hers out and her wedding isn't until next August - totally up to you :)

Vistaprint is great for magnets, invites and thank-you cards!

  • We sent ours out around a year in advance...we are having a summer wedding and therefore wanted to make sure that people didn't book their holidays etc.

We didn't even bother with save the date cards (even more moneysaving!) and sent out the invites a year before the wedding - sod this 6 weeks before etiquette malarky :p
  • vista print are great!!!!

save the dates are usually sent out a year in advance x
  • I think a year is fine, better to let people know earlier than later I say. :)

I love Vistaprint too, I ordered the business cards and did in wedding colours and put in the invites as RSVP cards, seemed to work as I've hardly had to chase anyone and everyone said it made it so much easier to reply. :T
  • how do you get free save the date magnets - i really want some lol

Thanks for posting this. We were planning to do save the date cards. We have friends and family coming from overseas, so we want to keep the date in everyone's diaries. We're not sure about the location/time, etc. yet though, so we can't send out invitations really.

I can't seem to find any place on the VistaPrint site though, where it lists the price. Also, was there a template for the STD idea, or did you design them yourself.

I really like the idea of magnets vs. just cards. :)

Sign up for the exclusive offers from Vistaprint and after a while you get sent some really great deals (including free magnets!) although you do have to pay P&P and wait a while for them to arrive.

There are templates on there if you search under 'home and family' or you can upload a photo or picture that you like.

Thanks! (and Thanks again, since the board software says I have to write at least 10 characters)
