I'd ask why they're paying via cheque, I deal with HB for people and the local councils always pay direct into bank, ask if they can do that instead

LHA is paid direct into bank account via BACS to nominated account. This is done either in two weeks or four weeks in arrears.
The only way to be paid weekly if you are a Council/ HA tenant.
To be paid directly to the L/L then you have to be in 8 weeks in arrears, or not in a capacity to be able to manage financial affairs yourself i.e mental health, disabilities etc.
This is to encourage people to be responsible to manage their own finances and control their outgoings for themselves. I find this also helps if you do not wish for the L/L to know that you are in receipt of HB.

    Rent is worked out at £0.00 x 52 / 12 = four weekly amt.

Some councils have a tenancy deposit scheme.

    Hope it helps.
