I would go for the less complicated the better. I had a roller door with the motor inside the roller and you can't maintain or do anything yourself to it, specialist only. Ebay have plenty, but you pays your money...

There are plenty of spares available but you really should go for the most common ones ie chain driven. Screwfix do quite a range.

I have had Hormann doors on my garage since 1992. The white primer paint finish is so good that I have never painted them as I thought that I would not get as good a finish with a brush.. Excellent doors.
I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.

Hormann is a respected name, so no problem there.

We're now on our second door from Securaglide, the one at the last house was so good, it was a 'need' rather than want, for the new place!!

Ours is roller shutter, so no nasty intrusions on the ceiling in the garage.

If you're looking for the existing door to be made to open, or a whole new door, you might call Gary at Garage Doors Luton - they cover a wide area, an established family firm, that supplied us.

I have up and over doors on my double garage and fitted a chain driven Electric door open from Wickes about 8yrs ago. It cost about £100 and the fitting was easy. It still works fine and is easy to clean and grease every so often. It came with a remote control and I was able to fit doorbell cable to connections at the back which means I can open it with a bellpush when I enter the garage from the house door and then close it with the remote which is in the car... and vice versa when I return home.
This one is a different design but the spec is the same and its only £119
