I asked him was it incase I made a mess and if so had he looked around lately!!! Was told it was incase I dropped it. I am 27 for goodness sake, hardly likey to drop a good ice-cream!!!
Most clothes shops do say on the doors NO food or drink to be consumed on the premises.
Can't see why people are making such a fuss. To me it is obvious that if you going in to a shop be it clothes or any other type of shop you stop eating. if I am eating something like a cake or such like I will put it back in the bag and then go in to the shop. And if eating something like an icecream or something that I can't stop eating. I eat it before entering the shop.
Also shops are not the public places that most people seem to think they are. So primark etc are well within there rights to choose and enforce the rules. And where in their rights not to let you in if eating.
Mind you it falls in to common sense way of thinking but seems not to many people have that quality now adays.

I went into the changing room in primark birmingham the other day and it looked like they'd been some sort of explosion! McDonald's boxes and half eaten food, twenty-odd hangers, jewellery wrappers, there was hardly any room left in there. Really gross. I think Primark has bigger problems than toddlers having a snack in their own buggy!0

One reason why I don't shop in Primark no matter how cheap it is. As it is a modern day jumble sale.

To be fair to Primark, I've been into a changing room at the one in Manchester and it had empty Burger King wrappers all over the place, so I told a member of staff and they came straight over and cleaned it up. They are good at sorting out problems most of the time.
They can't help their clientele, unfortunately. Mind you, I've been in a posh boutique and seen faeces smeared on a mirror. I think they had a disgruntled customer.0 -
Primark were 100% in the right no doubt whatsoever. Simple solution let kid finish whatever they are eating, have the decency to clean their hands and then go shopping alternatively go and shop elsewhere. To anybody complaining about the state of some of the Primark shops remember it is YOU, the customer, that has caused it ... in our local Primark there are assistants continually tidying up after the animals have had a good rummage through.

If you are talking about my use of the word 'animals' then wathcing come people shop is like watching feeding time at the zoo. Customer knock stuff on the floor .. looks at it walks on ... customer tugs at pile of neatly folded garments knocking them all over the place. I have yet to see a single member of staff messing up clothes .. anytime I see them they are fixing the mess made by the customers (and that goes for any clothes shop). When I worked in a supermarket the manager would tell the security guard to 'open the door and let the animals in'.
I definitely wouldn't call anybody that shopped (legally) anywhere a lowlife, however if you want to use the term I suppose that is your perogative .. I just would not agree with you

Why do some people think the world owes them a favour just because they have a small child in tow? I say good on Primark for stopping anyone eating food in store whether they are 27 with an icecream or 18 months old with a pasty.
I know small children need to eat when hungry but can the parents not just wait a couple of minutes for them to eat their food?
Primark may well resemble a modern day jumble sale but as someone else said this is down to the other customers not the staff. At the end of the day if you don't like the shop go elsewhere.
Oh and before anyone thinks I am anti-kids I am actually the mother of a 2 year old.0 -
My poor daughter has just quit after spending 3 years of her life working for Primark, the amount of times she didn't get home until 7pm was unbelievable because they weren't allowed to leave until the shop floor was clean and tidy, yet they didn't get paid overtime for this. She's had jeans returned to her on the customer services desk that have faeces on the inside where men have decided to go commando and yet believed they were entitled to return the object like that. The abuse she has suffered for just doing her job is unbelievable and yet she was always willing to go the extra mile and often stopped in her tracks to pacify a crying child and help out a weary mother. I know the shops don't always get it right but I wish people would put themselves on the other side of a counter before they jump on what they feel is wrong.
I've also worked for both Argos and Tesco and quit in the end when I was diagnosed with stress.Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

I am sorry to hear of the abuse your daughter has suffered and the stress that you have suffered from. And anyone doing customer facing jobs runs the gaunlet of it. And to it is beyond disgusting. They talk to you worse then a piece of doggy do on their shoes.
I have worked in a customer services type job and that was dealing with internal customers and colleagues. And even then I was called a female dog. by one. It caused me so much stress that I too left.
I personally don't know what is wrong with people. I try and make the person who is serving me have a nice customer experience as it can be very disheartening job.
One reason why I will never do a another customer facing job ever. The stress is too much.
